LouisvilleECD.org has been built using software that lost support in 2011. That software is finally having problems that seem to be unsurmountable so new software has been brought into play. One "feature" of the old web page is a selection of quotes about dance. I have not figured out how to add them to this new web site so they look right, so here is a whole new page dedicated to dance quotes. Below are some brought over from the old web site. If you have some dance quotes that you like, send them to Dancers@LouisvilleECD.org and we'll add them here.
----------------------------- The Human Body was designed to walk, run, or stop; it wasn’t built for coasting. -C Hightower
Life is not a journey of coasting to the grave with the intention of arriving in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways thoroughly used up, totally worn out and proclaiming WOW WHAT A RIDE!!! -Hunter S. Thompson, "Gonzo"
We should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least once.-Friedrich Nietzsche
...frequent disputes arose in the Ball Room, by different persons performing the Figure differently from others, and each persisting in his own opinion, and declaring his manner of performing the Figure to be correct.- Thomas Wilson, The Complete System of English Country Dancing, 1815http://regencydances.org/interpretation.php
"A woman who has waltzed for fifteen minutes is in the same condition as a woman who has drunk champagne." - Havelock Ellis
